Whiskey as Art
As we say on the labels, our bottles are even richer in flavor than appearance. This is a nod to our whiskey as we are obsessed with finding the best barrels for our offerings. But, let us be clear, we are obsessed with the art of the whiskey label as well.
The Cognacaise Bottle
Cognac’s influence on Bourbon can be found throughout its history. In the 1800’s, Whiskey shipped from the Ohio River Valley down to the Port of New Orleans spent a long time in the barrel.
During that long journey, Bourbon started to develop some of the flavors we are used to now, flavors that many at the time considered as sophisticated as cognac. While Bourbon is all American, it is considered a cousin of Cognac, and for that reason, we wanted to choose a bottle that fit that story. Enter the soft lines, impressive punt and high quality of the Cognacaise bottle from Saverglass. Founded in France, where Ben Franklin spent quite a bit of time, SaverGlass is the go-to glass company for some of the most popular Whiskey brands, and now ours as well.
The Art of the Whiskey Label
The whiskey label is a niche art market. Those who know, know.
And because we are among this group, we commission the facing art from highly accomplished artists we believe have the talent and vision to express the offering we are putting in your hand. Per usual, we spare no expense on the art in order to give you something you can be proud to pour for you and your friends. From all the artists at The Beautiful and the Damned: label, distiller, blender or otherwise, thank you for supporting us.
